Illustration Friday: September 18th, 2015: MERMAID… part 2

I loved this week's topic for Illustration Friday, so here's an illustration right our of my mind.
She's holding a shell with a pearl inside it.

Illustration Friday September 18th 2015: MERMAID

So for this week's topic, I got inspired by a picture  taken by Annie Liebowitz.
It shows Julienne Moore as Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

But my mermaid looks more like a Mexican star from the 1940s and 1950s called Maria Felix.

The Funny thing is, that I wasn't thinking on this actress as I was drawing my creature. I wanted it to be a bit sensual and it ended up resembling Maria Felix instead of Julienne Moore. Go figure...

Illustration Friday September 4th 2015: OLD

To illustrate last week's topic, I choose to do a drawing of a very special friend of mine. We used to be dance partners and even though he was much older than I was, he could do a mean 'Reel of 8', which is a popular tune in Scottish dancing. Here's to Jean-Claude and his piercing blue eyes.

Ilustration Friday August 29th 2015 : WORK

I used to contribute to the IF website regularly. These two illustrations are for the last week in August and illustrate the topic WORK. Can anyone guess which are the jobs related to these two illustrations?

I'm back after a 2-year-hiatus!!!!!

Sooooo… Last time I published something in this blog was April 2013…. Boy! If I'd known then what I know now!… But THAT is another story.
...Anyway, LOTS of things have happened since then: I moved countries, I stop producing art and I concentrated on teaching. I'm currently a TEFL teacher in Barcelona, Spain.
I miss speaking French. I miss my friends, but then Barcelona is not that far from my old town… It's only a five-and-a-half car ride.
I've decided to retake my blog and start producing art, as I actually miss it.
Sooooo…. here we go again.

This illustration was done for a Swap-bot care package last year. Titania is actually one of my favorite Shakesperean characters.
